food was great as i always expect at this location, got a t-bone with taters and Mac, they were out of broccoli, they gave my grandmother extra strawberries which was great. floors were a little sticky but meh, my concern was with the tables and chairs, they were clean but clearly worn down, many cracks and exposed stuffing, the chairs we had at our table were already flat so it was uncomfortable after about 30 minutes of sitting, the table wobble was bad I was concerned about spilling drink while cutting my steak. the staff was excellent especially when we stayed past our welcome (the bill) they didn't make us feel like we needed to go or anything (though I caught a few odd looks 😉 ) all in all a normal and decent experience i just wish I could remember our server's name he was great and is definitely deserving of extra

Navayah was just awesome. Such good energy, no issues with our order and believe it or not she took the whole order either way no PAD. And then did a great job staying on top of us you know like seeing if we needed stuff but not too much. Just a great experience.

I absolutely love IHOP but the one on Edgewood is horrible. When we first moved to Cedar Rapids it was a nice typical IHOP but it has been on steady decline for a couple years. I avoid going there if I can but occasionally because I really enjoy the food I will give them another try and they never fail to disappoint. From bad servers who could care less about giving even half decent service to cooks who don't know how to cook to management who is complacent at best this place routinely has all three at once. Even if one area is pretty good that day at least one other will be horrible and make you wonder why you even went there. The interior looks nice at first glance but then they take you to your booth and either your or the ones around it have torn messed up seats. There have been lots of staff changes and never to the benefit of the restaurant, the downhill decline is real at this particular IHOP. Update... I added a star. It had been quite awhile since trying Ihop again mostly because of covid. About a month ago we tried it again and i have to say i was much happier with our experience. Our waitress was nice and did a good job. Our food was hot and correct. Even the decor was better with no holes in the seats. We were so happy with our experience in the restaurant we tried them as a takeout also about a week later and it was just as good if not slightly better. I would normally give a 4 star atleast but with their past i want to give them more chances but if they keep doing what they are doing I will completely edit my original review. Another edit. We have been many more times and while not perfect they have really done a consistent job at being all around better since that last review shortly after covid.

Had a great experience at IHOP! The food was good, but what really stood out was the service. Nicki was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was taken care of. She definitely helped make the visit a great one. IHOP is lucky to have someone like her on the team. We’ll definitely be back!

The waitress Nikki is a fantastic waitress I never knew anyone could be so good at their job. She said born natural waitress. She would be a great manager if she ever wanted to get an advancement. I hope you people pay her a lot cuz if you ever lose her you're losing a good one.

My favorite experience at IHOP is the Bre McPherson experience! Always greeted with a bright smile and warm welcoming presence. She knows what I order all the time and brings my favorite beverage out immediately. She makes sure my food is well done and presented well. The food is amazingly good.

Bre was the waitress for our section. Very bubbly and gave special attention to the quality of food. What she did not know was that I was very heavy in my heart and when she came to take the order her energy and bright smile lifted the heaviness. Sometimes words do not need to be exchanged beyond the course of the interaction, just encountering her positive follow and energy did not make me feel that I was intrusive.
