The food was OK and my server was excellent. But... (1) The piped-in 1970s pop music on the P.A. was overwhelmed by the cooks, who were blasting "classic" rock and heavy metal over a boombox so loudly that it overtook everything else going on in the kitchen and the lobby. Evidently, the manager on duty was complicit, or he/she doesn't care enough to do anything about it. I would have posted this review from inside the IHOP, but the customer Wi-Fi was disconnected, even after rebooting my phone twice. The remaining 4G LTE cellular service around that part of Shawano is so poor that I couldn't get a signal, anyway. It was as if "Dilbert" had been dumped into a Kafka film in rural northern Wisconsin. Otherwise, if you enjoy pancakes and an omelet in the middle of a 1970s classic rock concert, you might enjoy the IHOP in Shawano, Wisconsin. I should have gone to Shawano Cafe, about five miles to the west.

Even though I’m not from Shawano, I decided to stop by IHOP while I was in town, and I’m really glad I did. I went alone and had a great experience from start to finish. The waitress who helped me was very kind, attentive, and made me feel welcome right away, which I truly appreciated. I ordered a strawberry shake and an omelet, and both were absolutely delicious. The shake was creamy, sweet, and refreshing—perfectly made. The omelet was flavorful and cooked just right, with generous portions and a satisfying taste. I also got the chance to try the tacos, and they honestly exceeded my expectations. They were packed with flavor, fresh ingredients, and had a nice balance of textures. The restaurant itself was clean and had a cozy atmosphere, which made it easy to relax and enjoy the meal. It’s always nice to find a place where the food and service both stand out. Even though I don’t live in Shawano, if I’m ever in the area again, I’ll definitely make a point to stop by and eat here. It was a great experience overall, and I’d highly recommend this location to anyone passing through.
