The wait time is horrible, and that's not because they are packed and busy. Probably 5 tables have guests. On one occasion, we waited almost an hour for our food while they listened to music and danced in the kitchen. Food was messed up and had to be sent back. We had to ask for the waitress because she apparently forgot we were there. Update.....we went back again, and I must say the food was really good, but once again, the service sucks.. well, at least Dominique sucked. Customer service is not her thing at all. Thanks to Ms. Aimee, she stepped in and helped us customers that Dominique neglected. Update....IHOP IHOP IHOP, way to go. I must say today's visit was such a turnaround from my last visit. Everything was awesome. Our food was cooked well and nicely plated , the server was very nice and attentive, the manager was friendly and worked along with his staff. It was so pleasant. They were on it today and we appreciate it..Update 4/29/2026-This has become my weekly go to place. Arriyah and Destiny go above and beyond but the other servers appear to be pretty good also. Everyone is friendly and truly committed to making sure the customers are happy. From the front to the back, they work together and its always an awesome experience. BTW: The 4 different flavor syrups are back.

The food took a while to arrive at our table, but we were a party of six. The waitress was friendly. I want to thank them for holding the tablet I left there. Good food, friendly staff, and a big plus for being honest.

This was our first time dining in and I will be back! Destiny was our server! She was very attentive! 10 out of 10 if I had a restaurant I would definitely recruit her! Please acknowledge this young lady for her top tier professionalism! And the food was amazing cook to perfection!

This place has improved tremendously! I wrote this place off over a year ago because every time I went, the staff was unorganized and unfriendly and always a long wait. Today I came for a second time in the past 3 months and BOTH times were amazing. The staff is friendly, very attentive, the food was delicious, and overall a big improvement. Check out the server Malia. She was attentive and very kind. My daughter and I had a great experience and we will definitely be back again. Also, the manager was very kind and seemed to bring great energy to his crew. Great job colonial heights IHOP!!!!

It was busy and apparently,they were short staffed in the back part of the house (kitchen). It took nearly an hour after we ordered our food for it to show up. The waitress was fantastic and it was not her fault at all. The manager needs to ensure well staffed shifts and, if needed, call in temp or on call staff to fill in. The food was hot when we got it but it took so long for it be made and sent out to us. I also believe they were overwhelmed with take out orders.

The food took FOREVER. It seems that door dash takes priority over in store customers. Restaurant bordered on clean. The ratty napkins under the table legs to stabilize the tables were a classy touch. The food wasn't bad.

The food was quite exceptional today. Pancakes, eggs, and sausage were hot, tasty, and fresh. Sometimes in the past it's been mediocre, lukewarm, and warmed up. It was quite a pleasant surprise and dining experience.

The lady at the front entrance was extremely nice and pleasant to deal with! Her name is Amy I believe, however she took the time to take my order and made sure my order was correct when it became ready! I truly appreciate great customer service and she delivered that!!!

I went back to my favorite restaurant June 29th and the service n food was soo much better .more of what I'm used to from IHOP. The waitress/greeter & server was the same person. I misplaced our receipt because I wanted to give her an extra special shout out. She was very pleasant professional and attentive. And even tho you could tell they were short staffed she did not show any frustration. The service was excellent the food was hot n fresh. She is a young lady who wore glasses with a long name that ended in mara 😫. I apologize for not having her full name. But you need more staff like her n the gentleman that helped her serve the food. Our pancakes were hot n fresh n not microwaved like our last visit. Great Job!!!!
